We've currently reached the dead of summer around here. It's been so hot that I dread leaving the house during the day for any reason, so I've been taking comfort in evening walks.
Last nite as we walked through the woods, it was so humid that the air was palpable. The cicadas were buzzing, and all of the reptiles were creeping around.
Bryan and I chatted about our days and Emma ran about like a manic, chasing dragonflies and catching frogs.
This forest is easily one of my happy places. I love how alive and tangible it feels on summer nites. And even though I'm ready for summer to end, I'm going to miss soaking up golden light of the sunset and the sticky air.
